Detailed Itinerary
Day 0: Arrival – Moshi Town
Arrive in Tanzania and meet the Uisso Adventures team. Transfer from Kilimanjaro International Airport to your hotel in Moshi for overnight rest, briefing, and equipment check.

Meals: Dinner (depending on arrival time)
Day 1: Hotel → Nale Moru (1,950m) → First Camp
After breakfast, drive to Marangu Gate for registration, then continue by road to Nale Moru, the starting point of the Rongai Route. The trek begins with a gentle walk through farmland and pine forest, home to diverse wildlife, before reaching your first camp on the edge of the moorland zone.

Day 2: First Camp → Kikelwa Cave (3,600m)
The trail climbs steadily toward Kibo, passing Second Cave (3,450m). As the vegetation thins, panoramic views open up and the scale of the mountain becomes clear. Overnight near Kikelwa Cave, close to a mountain stream.

Day 3: Kikelwa Cave → Mawenzi Tarn (4,330m)
A shorter but steeper climb leads through grassy slopes to Mawenzi Tarn, spectacularly set beneath the jagged spires of Mawenzi Peak. Spend the afternoon acclimatizing and exploring this dramatic high-altitude environment.

Day 4: Mawenzi Tarn → Kibo Hut (4,700m)
Continue ascending on the eastern side of Kibo, crossing the saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo. Reach Kibo Hut after 4–5 hours and rest for the afternoon in preparation for the midnight summit attempt.

Day 5: Summit Day – Kibo Hut → Uhuru Peak (5,895m) → Horombo Hut
Wake around 11:30 PM and begin the ascent under the stars. The climb passes Hans Meyer Cave (5,150m) before the steep zigzags to Gillman’s Point on the crater rim. From here, snow often lines the trail to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa.
After celebration and photos, descend back to Kibo Hut for a short rest, then continue to Horombo Hut for overnight.

Day 6: Horombo Hut → Marangu Gate → Moshi
After breakfast, descend through the rainforest past Mandara Hut to Marangu Gate. Sign out and receive your summit certificate—green for Gillman’s Point or gold for Uhuru Peak—before driving back to Moshi for a hot shower and celebrations.
