Materuni Waterfall
Materuni sits on the slopes of Kilimanjaro, a lush community where coffee and waterfalls shape daily life. Our family visits start with a guided walk through coffee plantations, a local coffee tasting, and a gentle hike to the waterfall. The path is shaded, and the final pool is ideal for photographing and for older children to paddle under supervision.
Historically, Materuni has been a place of local gatherings; our visits support community guides and small cooperatives. Your visit directly benefits local households and the people who maintain trails and conservation efforts.
Chemka (Kikuletwa) Hot Springs
Chemka is a natural warm spring surrounded by palm trees and limestone, easy access, shallow clear pools and a relaxed picnic area. Families enjoy swimming, snorkeling with life jackets provided, and relaxing at the waterside cafés. The area is well-suited for a half-day trip combined with Materuni (travel time permitting).
